Marialana Merrick

Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 2.42.03 PMMarialana Merrick, also known as “Lanie,” calls Harrisburg, Pa. home. Born and raised in the suburbs of Harrisburg, Marialana immersed herself in music at a young age. At the age of 3, she made her first performance at  Tap N’ Arts Dance Studio, where she continued to dance for 15 years.

Merrick is trained in four different languages, along with classical, folk and broadway music. Ultimately, she values her Latina culture and sings Spanish and tejano music often for special events. The great tejano singer Selena is someone who inspires Merrick in all aspects of music.

Performing Selena covers is her passion, as she strives to become a cross-over artist. These performances include the Governor’s Latino American Affairs ceremony at the Harrisburg Capitol Rotunda and as a halftime performance for Harrisburg City Islanders (Minor League Soccer). Impressively enough, she is regularly cited by the New Haven Register and Penn Live news outlets for “outstanding performance” and “soaring voice” for the National Anthem at the Big 33 Classic, where she met NFL all-stars such as Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Outside of her own music, Merrick sings in the ranks of where Elvis Presley and Celine Dion began, in gospel choirs and National Anthems all over to keep herself grounded with community.

Merrick brings a triple threat to the millennial generation. Dance, media and singing are just a few of her capabilities. With a new talk show and continued recording, Marialana Media is sure to land upon the stars.
